Cassandra Kyeyune
Cass is a TV researcher and is currently six months into a production traineeship at Channel 4, where she has been placed within one of ITV’s in-house labels, Shiver. So far, she has worked as a development researcher, on Come Dine With Me and is now working on the ITV flagship programme Peston, a weekly live current affairs show hosted by Robert Peston. Cass also took part in the Create Jobs Broadcast Programme in November 2017 and was on the last round of Meet a Mentor which finished in May last year. Prior to TV, she worked in advertising and music consultancy with a range of companies from Warm Street to Universal music. Alongside her day to day work, she is also a passionate artist and filmmaker and released her debut short film 'The Rat Race' back in 2017, which explored themes of loss, sisterhood and escapism. Cass was a mentee on Meet a Mentor #4.
Lucy Carasco
Lucy is an assistant producer at BBC Radio 6 Music. She has worked on a range of programmes for the network and is currently working across Cerys Matthews, Amy Lame and Iggy Pop’s shows. Prior to this Lucy worked at NTS Radio in Hackney as an on-air Studio Producer, she also worked as a production assistant and researcher, at the independent production company Reduced Listening mainly working on documentaries for Radio 4 and Radio 3’s Late Junction. Lucy had a previous career as a graphic designer & Art Direction. She still continues to dabble in a bit of freelance work alongside her regular work and is the designer of the Meet a Mentor logo. Lucy was a mentee on Meet a Mentor #4.
Naana Orleans-Amissah
Naana has 17-years’ experience as a creative strategist. She started her career at Unilever as one of two Graduate Trainees recruited from four thousand applicants, for the West African sub-region. She has both client and agency experience and has worked for companies and brands as diverse as glue, JWT, Karmarama, Dove, Hilton, O2, the Army, and Jaguar, Crabtree & Evelyn.She has hosted the Creative Industry Panel at the 2014 African Business Summit at London Business School, is an annual host at the Sheffield Documentary Festival and will host at the Brighton Dome Festival. Interested in how stories are formed and told, she has hosted two workshops on storytelling for Create Jobs. Naana is an experienced Mentor & is currently helping out with the sixth iteration of Mentor having previously mentored on programmes #4 and #5, making it a Meet a Mentor hat trick!
Gus Hurdle:
Gus is Head of Production at Red Bull Media House, prior to that Gus has worked at some of the broadcasting giants including Disney, Endemol as well as a huge array of independent production companies. Gus is currently Head of Production at Red Bull Media. Prior to his career in production, Gus had a career as a professional footballer for six years.was having formerly had a career as a professional footballer. Gus was a mentor on Meet a Mentor #2.
The session will be chaired by Antonia Odunlami:
Antonia is a DJ, presenter (Diaspora Distins on Worldwide FM) and content producer. She is a founding member of gal-dem, where she led as Music Editor for 3 years from its inception. Antonia’s work has a particular focus on the African and Caribbean diaspora - and the creative global communities forming as a result of the current cultural shift -. Antonia was a mentee on Meet a Mentor #2.
